NaNoWriMo is a “fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing” where participants have a goal of writing a 50,000 word novel between November 1 and November 30. They register online, where they can earn badges as they progress to the finish line, network with other writers, and check out resources to help them along. http://nanowrimo.org/
