Writing Phi Nhung’s biography has been a labour of love, and preparing the Vietnamese edition of this book in particular has been a long and meticulous process. We’re now pleased to announce that the VIETNAMESE TEXT IS NOW COMPLETE. ![]()

There’s not long to go until the full Vietnamese edition will be made available to those readers who have been waiting so patiently for its release.
From today, the text will be edited and prepared for publication on our expected release date of 11 November to celebrate a very special day for Phi Nhung’s family. Keep an eye on Wendy Pham’s page for more details.
An Emissary from Heaven co-writer Queenie Nguyen collected her research for this book on Vietnamese language materials – relying almost exclusively on Phi Nhung’s own words – with the intention of building a story in English that international readers would enjoy as much as Nhung’s Vietnamese fans.
Creating the Vietnamese edition of the book, entitled Tinh Binh, was an enormous challenge. Many books translated from English into Vietnamese have an unnatural tone and do not “feel” Vietnamese. Our team at Metro Writers felt that Phi Nhung’s story deserves better treatment. Queenie has taken extra time and care to ensure that Tinh Binh is a beautiful Vietnamese book that will serve as a tribute to Phi Nhung’s life in her native language in telling a story that will become a part of Vietnamese history.
Queenie’s translated text is long and richly told, covering 90,000 words in Vietnamese. The final publication will be a heavy volume for readers to take their time to enjoy as they remember Phi Nhung and celebrate her life.
